Milwaukee Esports Alliance, Magik4Gaming, Partner with Camp RISE to Inspire Future Gamers

Milwaukee, WI – July 23rd  2024 – In a first of it’s kind collaboration, the Milwaukee Esports Alliance, Magik4Gaming and Employ Milwaukee teamed up to offer a unique and engaging esports experience to 300 kids participating in Camp RISE. Camp RISE, developed in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Recreation and the City of Milwaukee, is a free summer enrichment and career exploration program that aims to provide Milwaukee youth with the tools to become leaders in their community.

Campers had the opportunity play Mario Kart during the day, as well as learn about Esports and Gaming.

Over the course of six different dates during the summer, Camp RISE students journeyed downtown to the Magik4Gaming Hub, where they delved into the developing world of esports.

More than just fun outings; each day’s agenda was packed with insightful sessions led by Magik4Gaming and Milwaukee Esports Alliance staff around career paths in gaming, the importance of teamwork and strategy, as well as how esports can be both an entertaining pastime and a viable career option.

Participants were also treated to hands-on gaming activities, including Mario Kart tournaments that allowed them to showcase their skills and compete in a friendly, supportive environment.

“The esports collaboration with Camp RISE showcased the best of what can come together from non-traditional community partnerships. By bringing esports into the spotlight for these kids, we not only entertained them in a way that’s truly relevant for their generation, but also provided education around a rapidly growing industry that they may someday want to have a career in” said Brandon Tschacher, founder of the Milwaukee Esports Alliance.

“As gaming continues to be a bigger and bigger part of our campers’ day to day lives, getting the opportunity to see them both have fun and learn about opportunities in the gaming industry, was a valuable experience. We are grateful we could come together for this impact. ” added Romell Gree, Camp RISE Camp Director.

Around 300 campers in total attended the events across six different dates.

Esports programming takes place each week at the Magik4Gaming Hub and the Milwaukee Esports Alliance operates a number of additional esports activations and events across the state of Wisconsin.
