Wisconsin Esports Conference

Wisconsin Esports Conference

States Premier Collegiate Esports League, Wisconsin Esports Conference (WEC), launching Fall of 2024.

Milwaukee, WI – May 16th, 2024 – For the first time in the state’s history, Wisconsin will have one go to collegiate league for competitive gaming across multiple titles.

The Wisconsin Esports Conference (a subsidiary of the Milwaukee Esports Alliance), is set to launch in Fall of 2024, providing the opportunity for the states collegiate esports ecosystem to connect and compete like never before.

Offering multiple titles for competition, alongside resources and support to help grow the participating universities programs, the league aims to set itself apart from the national leagues that schools in state currently compete within.

“We’ve been overdue to be able to provide our in-state schools with a top tier collegiate league experience” said Brandon Tschacher, owner of the Milwaukee Esports Alliance. “The ability to focus on critical areas like in-person competitions, dependable schedules and probably most importantly, the ability to foster in-state rivalries like you see in other sports – will really be things that can differentiate us and set the tone for a sustainable future”.

Keeping a tight focus on Wisconsin has been a key element behind the success of the conference’s owner, the Milwaukee Esports Alliance, compared with other organizations and leagues that have tried to expand and cover more geography.

“The Wisconsin Esports Conference is focused solely on creating an exceptional competitive collegiate esports ecosystem for our colleges and universities here, this focus will be critical to our ability to provide our coaches and student-athletes with the best experience possible, leading the most favorable outcomes.” said Lewis Smith, Commissioner of the new conference.

The league has come together through the joint efforts of many of Wisconsin’s collegiate esports leaders. A steering committee of over 10 Wisconsin Esports leaders was formed to help guide the leagues inception and leaders from previously run collegiate leagues for specific titles (Wisconsin Collegiate Rocket League and Wisconsin Valorant League) also came on board to help towards a successful launch.

Beginning in December, the Conference will hold in-person competitions across Wisconsin, culminating in a State Championship event. The business, media and general communities will be welcome to attend and see what top level collegiate esports competition looks like.
